At Girasol, our students are taught and grouped according to their unique and individual strengths, needs and development rather than their age.
Unlike traditional same-age classrooms that often confine children to the same level, our children are provided with opportunities to be exposed to and participate in more advanced work as well as have more time if needed to master skills. Older children in our preschool learn how to be leaders and use higher levels of thinking as they explain their thinking and processes to younger children. Younger children become curious and interested learning what older children are working on in the class.
Staying with the same children for several years helps our teachers build on the opportunities they've had to get to know your child’s personality, strengths, needs and interests. Because children in our classroom stay together for several years, they are able to develop a sense of family as they support and care for each other.
